Held in São Paulo from 11th to 15th july, this year's Animamundi will bring again for the city the best in movie animation from worldwide. The festival will celebrate its fifteenth year of existance with almost 60 film programs as well as lectures, workshops and chats with filmmakers. The complete program is available here.
In what concerns about short films, the festival will have 17 programs, exibiting the result of a worldwide research. The festival also includes a special program with shorts films from the seminal animator Norman McLaren and another one with films from Academy Award winning John Weldon, both of them from National Film Board of Canada. This last screening will be followed by a chat with the filmmaker.
For the children there are specific programs which will screen films from all around the world specially for the infants.
Among the programs, there will be screened 6 featured films. The highlights are "Garoto Cósmico" (Cosmic Boy) from Brazilian animator Alê Abreu, about a futuristic world where every life is previously programmed and "Pärnographic", a documentary portrait of the famous Estonian animator Pritt Pärn and his grotesque and absurd work.

Be sure not to loose the workshop with Mark Walsh, supervisor animator in Pixar Studios and the lecture with Tom Boom, from the Canadian company with his name, specialized in software solutions for animators.
